About the Studio
The original art studio was established in Barnes, southwest London (England) in 1989 and relocated to Coombe Hill (near Kingston upon Thames) in 2005. This website was created in 1998 for the sole purpose of cataloguing online the studio's artwork as well as providing a regular update on recent work.
About the Artist: Gunter Paul Pueschel
Having grown up in New York City I witnessed at first hand the heyday of 50/60s abstract expressionism and towering skyscrapers. I qualified as an architect based on a Bauhaus-type of university education emphasising crafts, fine arts and design. As a Brit living in London for over 40 years I have been active as an architect and artist.
My artwork comprises oil and acrylic media on canvas and paper, more recently incorporating the same into handmade books (bookart). My travels throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia inspired my paintings providing a visual catalogue of colours and shapes summarising the underlying atmosphere of the places I have seen. The current stage of my artwork is defined by the visual manipulation and subsequent interpretation of digitally mastered project work.
